Farmers grow coffee. These farmers partner with them to arrange for processing, export, import, roasting, marketing and distribution. Some of this they do, some of it they get accomplished through their partners, who you can meet online. Farmers are paid at local standard market rates for their coffee (not the lower rates offered by middlemen who go from field to field)”
The farmer [Read more] on the final consumer-end mark-up.* This allows farmers putting in the extra effort to make quality coffee to realize the fruits (yes, coffee is a fruit) of their labor.
10% of their profits allegdly goes toward:
Training and education in sustainable farming and quality improvement
The ability to represent their coffee overseas, and take control of their coffee by turning family farms into real businesses
Funding for community projects (actually, our customers and drinkers do most of that…our registered nonprofit just helps to process the donations so they can take the credit)
